So, when people hear they actually choose who serves on the governing body for the University of Colorado system, the Board of Regents, the reaction generates the enthusiasm of a stifled yawn.What most people don't realize is that the University of Colorado system directly or indirectly impacts each of us in Colorado and the selection of members of the Board of Regents is critical to the well-being of our state. In 2012, in addition to the U.S. Presidential contest, this is the only other state-wide race affecting Colorado. Higher education empowers individuals to fulfill their dreams; allows companies to grow; brings new firms to the state; generates world-renowned and live-saving healthcare; and helps create jobs and opportunities for Coloradans.
